The Pittsburgh Steelers lose fullback Dan Kreider for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Injury Reports, General by admin on Saturday 8 December 2007 at 11:24 am

The Steelers have lost their jackhammer blocker in the running game, Dan Kreider for the season after he tore his ACL.  Kreider isn’t much of an offensive threat with the ball as he carried it 1 time this season for 2 yards and he also caught 1 pass for 15 yards.  Still, the running game will miss Kreider’s blocking.  Carey Davis will take over for Kreider and he’s a much better threat with the football in his hands than Kreider ever was.  He has played in 12 games this season and he has 11 carries for 40 yards (3.6 ypc) and he has also caught 8 passes for 36 yards (4.5 avg).

Pittsburgh Steelers 24, Cincinnati Bengals 10

It seems like Pittsburgh is turning into Florida during the rainy season but it didn’t hurt the Steelers last night as they moved closer to clinching the AFC North.  Ben Roethlisberger had a decent game as he completed 21 of 32 passes for 184 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 interceptions.  He also carried the ball 6 times for 13 yards (2.2 ypc) with a TD run.  Willie Parker had a hard time as he lost two fumbles last night.  He still rushed for 87 yards on 28 carries (3.1 ypc) last night.  Hines Ward had a very good night as he led the Steelers with 11 catches for 90 yards (8.2 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  The Steelers finished up with 101 yards rushing on 35 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 32 passes for 184 yards.

The defense was outstanding for the Steelers last night and it was led by linebacker James Farrior and safety Tyrone Carter who had 8 tackles apiece.  The Bengals finished up with 74 yards rushing on 23 carries (3.2 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 44 passes for 175 yards.
