Steelers lose shootout 41-38 in OT
The Steelers have now fallen to 2-4, but you can’t blame yesterday’s loss on the offense! The defense was downright terrible! The Falcons ran the ball 39 times for 173 yards against the ‘vaunted’ Steeler defense! The Falcons also completed 18 of 30 passes for 226 net yards passing……which is unbelievable! Michael Vick threw 4 TD passes against the Steelers! Pitiful!
The Steelers QBs both played great. Ben Roethlisberger (left in third quarter with a head injury) completed 16 of 22 passes for 238 yards and 3 TD passes. Charlie Batch relieved him and completed 8 of 13 passes for 195 yards and 2 TDs. RB willie Parker had a rough game, carrying the ball 20 times for 47 yards (2.4 ypc) and losing a fumble. WR Hines Ward finally showed up this season with 8 catches for 171 yards and 3 TDs! Rookie Santonio Holmes had his best game as a pro, catching 5 passes for 91 yards. Nate Washington continues to play well, catching 3 passes for 76 yards and a TD. Cedric Wilson pitched in 3 catches for 54 yards. TE Heath Miller caught 2 passes for 4 yards and a TD.
The Falcons just out-played the Steelers. The Steelers had better get it together soon, or this season will be a huge failure!

Can’t blame the offense? How about the three fumbles, two of which gave the Falcons great field position and TWO touchdowns.
There’s plenty of blame to go around on both sides of the ball. Our tackeleing sucks. We pursue right past the backs, and you can’t block tackle a guy like Vick. What ever happened to wrapping someone up?
On the other side Mike is right. We handled the ball like it was dipped in grease.
Mike….the defense could have stepped up…which they didn’t the whole game. Alge Crumpler dominated the Steeler secondary like they weren’t even there. Face it, the Steelers defense isn’t as good as they’ve been the last few years and the O-Line isn’t blocking that well either.
